Brigadier Raj Singh Jamwal (Retd.)
Founder & Director, Lakshya Defence Academy, Jammu

Brigadier R.S. Jamwal (Retd.) is a distinguished Army veteran with 39 years of exemplary service to the Nation. An alumnus of Lawrence School, Sanawar (Shimla Hills),
he joined the National Defence Academy in 1973 and was commissioned into the Indian Army in 1976.

During his military career, he earned academic qualifications including BSc, MSc, and MBA, and graduated from premier defence institutions such as:     

. Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington

. Joint Services Staff College (JSSC), Canberra, Australia

. College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad

He is widely travelled, having served in Namibia and Australia, and visited countries including Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Canada, USA, Alaska, Dubai, Kenya, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and South Africa.

Brigadier Jamwal has seen operational service in several warlike zones including Mizoram, Nagaland, Srinagar, and at the Siachen Glacier — the highest battlefield in the world.

He has over 18 years of experience in coaching Army officers and has also conducted three major recruitment rallies in 1998, 2006, and 2007.
During his tenure, he also served as Chairman, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanjuwan and Chairman, Army School Sanjuwan, reflecting his passion for education and nation-building.

After retiring from the Army in July 2012, Brigadier Jamwal established Lakshya Defence Academy, Jammu on 01 July 2013. The Academy was founded with the mission to guide and train young men and women who aspire to join the Belt Forces — whether as Officers or as Soldiers/Constables. Under his leadership, Lakshya Defence Academy has grown into a trusted and result-oriented institution, known for its discipline, high standards, and outstanding success rate of 97%.
